Sri Lanka, July 20 -- Police opened fire at a motorcycle after the pillion rider allegedly attacked a Police officer with a sharp weapon while attempting to flee following a house attack in Boralesgamuwa during the early hours of yesterday (19), injuring one of the suspects, Police said.

According to Police, four men armed with sharp weapons arrived on two motorcycles, assaulted the occupants of a house in Boralesgamuwa and caused extensive damage to the property. Following the attack, Boralesgamuwa Police received information that the suspects were heading towards Piliyandala and set up a roadblock on Weerasinghe Mawatha in the Bokundara area.
