Police crack whip on those harbouring mosquito breeding grounds
Sri Lanka, June 30 -- The Sri Lanka Police has stepped forward to enforce the law under the provisions of the Penal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure against individuals who allow their premises to become breeding grounds for dengue mosquitoes, thereby facilitating the spread of the disease.
This initiative aims to strictly crack down on individuals who disregard public warnings to clean their surroundings despite the current surge in dengue transmission.
Police Spokesperson ASP F. U. Wootler stated that the Police will implement these legal measures under Section 262 of the Penal Code and Section 98 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
