Sri Lanka, March 9 -- A 19-year-old motorcyclist was arrested by the Navagattegama Police yesterday (08), following a video that went viral on social media showing him and another youth riding recklessly and obstructing traffic on the Anamaduwa-Navagattegama road.

According to the police, the motorcycle was traveling towards Anamaduwa at the time, posing a serious risk to other motorists and motorcyclists. The rider now faces charges including reckless and dangerous driving, endangering lives, and attempted culpable homicide.

The suspect, a resident of the Navagattegama area, is scheduled to be produced before the Anamaduwa Magistrate's Court today (09).

The Navagattegama Police are continuing further investigations into the incident....
