Sri Lanka, Sept. 5 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has pledged to provide all facilities and resources to transform the Sri Lanka Police into a highly respected and modern public service. Speaking at the 160th Police Day (September 3) commemoration, President Dissanayake also urged Police officers to treat the battle against drugs and organised crime not merely as a professional duty but a broader social responsibility.Sri Lanka tourism

He also commended the Police for conducting the highest number of drug raids and arrests over the past two years and for bringing 74 underworld criminals who had been hiding overseas back into the country with international assistance.
