Plans to strengthen waste management in coastal zones, fishing harbours
Sri Lanka, June 3 -- The Cabinet of Ministers approved a comprehensive proposal aimed at strengthening waste management in Sri Lanka's coastal zones and fishing harbours, Cabinet Spokesman, Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa announced.
Speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing yesterday (2), the Minister said the initiative seeks to address the growing environmental, social and public health challenges caused by plastic and fiberglass pollution.
