Sri Lanka, Aug. 27 -- The price of seats at certain locations set aside for viewing the final Randoli Maha Perahera of the Kandy Esala Perahera has been increased to Rs.40,000.

The Kandy Municipal Council has set aside seats for viewing the final Randoli Maha Perahera from the Queen's Hotel Corridor, and the price for a first-row seat has been set at Rs.28,000. Municipal Commissioner Indika Abeysinghe said that all the seats have been sold out.

Perahera Trust Chairman Gangawata Korale Divisional Secretary Amila Navaratne said he has also received information that the Perahera seats are being sold at higher prices and that the Perahera Trust does not have the ability to control the prices of the seats.
