Sri Lanka, April 20 -- The National Transport Commission (NTC) is urging passengers to file complaints regarding buses that overcharge passengers and do not provide tickets.

The hotline 1955 can be used to file complaints and is operational 24 hours a day, its Director General Dr. Nilan Miranda said. He also said that complaints can be filed at any police station.

Miranda further said that the NTC has planned to conduct raids to nab errant bus operators 24 hours a day until April 21. Meanwhile, the NTC has taken steps to impose fines on 80 buses that overcharged passengers during the New Year.
