It will be visible in Sri Lanka as a partial lunar eclipse on March 3, according to the Chairman of the Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies, senior Professor Chandana Jayaratne.
The eclipse will begin at 2.14 p.m. with the moon entering the lesser dark shadow of the Earth during day time.
Although this is a total lunar eclipse which will be visible in many parts of the world such as East Asia, Australia, Pacific and the Americas, it will be visible to Sri Lanka as a partial lunar eclipse for a short period of 26 minutes.
