Sri Lanka, Aug. 7 -- The Government is implementing various programmes to reduce the number of doctors leaving the country. In particular, we are taking steps to provide them with a better environment, transportation facilities, and increasing allowances, Deputy Education and Higher Education Minister Dr. Madhura Senevirathna informed Parliament.

He said that a total of 3,791 medical specialists have gone abroad from 2020 to 2025 and most of them have gone to receive specialised medical training,
