Sri Lanka, June 11 -- The Government has planned to introduce energy storage systems to maximise the use of renewable energy as the country steps toward its target of generating 70 percent of electricity from renewable sources by the year 2030, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya informed Parliament yesterday (10).
Responding to a question raised by National People's Power (NPP) MP Asitha Niroshana Egoda Vithana during the Questions for Prime Minister session yesterday (10), the Premier said that plans are already in place and are being currently implemented to achieve the country's renewable energy goals.
