Sri Lanka, May 20 -- Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe said in Parliament yesterday that the legal procedures required to release another 45,000 metric tons of paddy, held by the Paddy Marketing Board (PMB), to the market will be carried out in the coming days.
The Minister also stated that the Cabinet approval for this is scheduled to be obtained next week. The Minister said this while participating in the debate on the Second Reading of the Inland Revenue (Amendment) Bill. "There were discussions in Parliament about the price of paddy.
