Sri Lanka, Sept. 1 -- The Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) has recovered a large stock of crystal methamphetamine (Ice) weighing over 420 kilograms inside a container at the Colombo Port.

The Police stated that the CCIB had carried out the raid yesterday (31) based on a tip-off, after obtaining a court order, and had seized the stock of the narcotic which had been concealed inside a container at the Colombo Port. A 44-year-old businessman from the Dematagoda area has been arrested by the CCIB in this connection.

Police had previously taken steps to report to the court that there were two suspicious containers at the CICT at the Colombo Port and accordingly, these containers were opened yesterday.
