Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- The process of signing the No-Confidence Motion (NCM) to be brought by the Opposition against Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne commenced yesterday (8) at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament.

The motion has been drafted based on 49 allegations against the Speaker. Led by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, the signing process saw participation from various representatives of the Opposition. In addition to the main Opposition party the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), the motion was signed by Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Chanaka Madugoda, Chamara Sampath Dassanayake of the New Democratic Front (NDF) and Archchuna Ramanathan of the Jaffna Independent Group 17, among others.
