Sri Lanka, Oct. 1 -- The Court of Appeal has issued an open warrant for the arrest of Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera, Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena, and ordered that he be produced before court.

The order was issued while Gnanasara Thera is serving a prison sentence for contempt of court. The Court of Appeal also imposed a travel ban preventing him from leaving the country and directed the authorities to inform the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration of the restriction.

The open warrant is to be enforced through the Inspector General of Police.
