Sri Lanka, July 10 -- A special workshop on digital safety and countering hate speech for journalists in the Ampara District was held at the Akkaraipattu Municipal Council 'Hallaj' Auditorium recently.

The workshop was organised under the 'Responsible Digital Society for Social Cohesion - Phase 2' project. The programme was organised by 'Sarvodaya' with financial assistance from UNICEF. More than 50 journalists from the Ampara District participated in the workshop.

The event was coordinated by the National Unity Journalists Association (NUJA) media organisation. The workshop was inaugurated by Addalaichenai Assistant Divisional Secretary and Attorney-at-Law Naheeja Muzabir, who attended as the Chief Guest.
