Sri Lanka, June 1 -- The National Transport Commission (NTC) states that despite the increase in diesel prices by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), there will be no revision of bus fares.

Following the fuel price hike, the Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association has made a request to the National Transport Commission to implement an interim bus fare revision. Stating that this should be implemented ahead of the annual bus fare revision scheduled for July, the association noted that they expect a five percent fare increase to take effect from the June 2.
