Sri Lanka, April 8 -- Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody told Parliament that the Government has not implemented any power cuts during the on-going energy crisis.
He assured the public that any scheduled power cuts will be announced before implementation and stressed that the Government will only disrupt electricity supply under planned circumstances.
Responding to a question raised by Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Mujibur Rahman yesterday (7) over sudden power outages in Colombo and other areas, the Minister explained that the intermittent electricity disruptions experienced are solely due to electricity breakdowns and not deliberate load shedding.
