Sri Lanka, May 20 -- No members of the political authority, apart from officially designated representatives, were invited to attend the National War Heroes Commemoration ceremony held yesterday (19), Foreign Affairs, Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath said. Speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing held in Colombo yesterday (19), the Minister stated that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake attended the event in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief, along with Defence Deputy Minister Aruna Jayasekara and Public Security Deputy Minister.

The Minister further noted that the ceremony was attended by the Commanders of the Tri-Forces, the Inspector General, senior security officials and members of war hero families.
