Sri Lanka, Oct. 16 -- Housing, Construction and Water Supply Minister Dr. Susil Ranasinghe said that there will be no increase in water rates this year as a decision on whether or not to revise water rates will be made only next January.

He said that a review will be conducted twice a year on whether or not water tariffs should be revised, and the next review will be in January 2027.

The Minister made this statement on Wednesday (14) while participating in the inauguration of the project to increase the capacity of the Balagolla Water Treatment Plant belonging to the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.
