No disruption to water supply in next three months, even if no rain
Sri Lanka, July 31 -- Housing, Construction and Water Supply Minister Dr. Susil Ranasinghe has assured the public that a continuous water supply can be maintained even if there is no rainfall for the next three months, as there are sufficient water levels in key reservoirs.
Speaking to the media, the Minister said the expected El Nino phenomenon has already been taken into account, and the Government has established a mechanism to minimise its possible impact.
A Cabinet sub-committee, chaired by the Environment Minister, has been appointed to review the situation, with relevant officials.
