Sri Lanka, June 12 -- The National Movement for Social Justice, yesterday called on the Government to abolish the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act (PTA) without any further delay.
Issuing a statement the NMSJ said by continuing to enforce the PTA, Sri Lanka is sending a message to the international community that it is not prepared to act in line with the standards of the civilised world.
The statement also said "The PTA was introduced as a temporary measure at a time when Sri Lanka was facing a serious terrorist threat.
