Sri Lanka, April 17 -- Nine Chinese nationals allegedly linked to cyber crimes were arrested by Airport Customs officials early yesterday morning, along with a stock of electronic communication equipment worth over Rs. 24 million.

They were arrested while attempting to exit through the 'Green Channel' (nothing to declare) at the arrival terminal of the Katunayake Airport.

When subjected to a scan test by Katunayake Airport Customs officials, it was revealed that they had concealed 383 used mobile phones, 101 tablet computers and six Wi-Fi routers on their bodies and inside their clothing using tape.

Katunayake Airport Customs officials are holding the suspects in custody and conducting further investigations into the incident.
