Sri Lanka, March 4 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to establish a Directorate of Accident and Emergency Care System under the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medical Services to strengthen the country's response to accidents and medical emergencies.

The decision comes amid a rise in road accidents, household accidents, workplace incidents, and natural disasters across Sri Lanka, highlighting the need for a formal and coordinated mechanism to manage accident and emergency healthcare services.Sri Lanka travel
