The Ambassador expressed his appreciation for Sri Lanka's ability to hold three free and fair elections following a period of severe economic crisis.

Recalling the historical ties between the two nations, the Ambassador discussed the ongoing process of returning certain antiquities taken from Sri Lanka during the colonial era. He also noted the significant contribution of Sri Lankan experts in this endeavour.
