Navy continues to support national dengue prevention drive
Sri Lanka, July 15 -- The Sri Lanka Navy has deployed personnel to assist the national dengue prevention campaign aimed at curbing the spread of the disease in Colombo and surrounding areas.
Working under the theme 'Towards a Dengue-Free Colombo', the initiative is a collaborative effort between the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat, the National Dengue Control Unit and the Environmental Protection Division of the Sri Lanka Police. The Navy's active participation in the campaign entered its ninth consecutive day on July 13.
A contingent of 59 naval personnel from the Western Naval Command joined local Medical Officers of Health, Divisional Secretariat staff and Public Health Inspectors to carry out the inspections.
