Sri Lanka, March 9 -- With the coordination of the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Colombo, the Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to bring ashore a crew member, in need of medical attention, of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) ship ONAMI, sailing in the Western seas off Colombo, on Friday (6).Beaches & Islands
The Navy swung into action following an urgent notification from the ship to MRCC Colombo, reporting a crew member in need of prompt medical attention. Responding to the request for a Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC), a Naval craft from the Western Naval Command was immediately deployed, complete with a medical team, to swiftly retrieve the patient and ensure the rapid transfer.
