Sri Lanka, Aug. 7 -- The National Institute of Education (NIE), in collaboration with the Education Ministry and Room to Read Sri Lanka, has launched an initiative to establish a sustainable reading culture across Sri Lanka's National Colleges of Education.
The inaugural pilot programme, 'Pedagogical Foundations for a Reading Culture', held at the National Institute of Education, Meepe from August 1-5. This five-day Sinhala-medium residential programme brought together teacher educators from Hapitigam and Wayamba National Colleges of Education, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to implement a newly developed curriculum and activity guide aimed at strengthening reading instruction in pre-service teacher education.
