Sri Lanka, May 13 -- Gampaha District NPP MP Ruwan Mapalagama yesterday lodged a complaint with the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) investigating into coal imports, alleging that coal worth Rs.6.7 billion had been imported without following proper tender procedures during 2011-2014.

Addressing the media after submitting the complaint to the Commission Secretary, Mapalagama alleged that the Government in power had neither secured Cabinet approval for the six coal procurements carried out between 2011 and 2014 nor adhered to proper tender procedures in purchasing coal.
