Sri Lanka, Aug. 19 -- Dimuthu Chathuranga Perera, alias Modara Chathoo or Summitpura Chathoo, an organised crime gang member hiding in Oman, was arrested by a team of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers in Oman and brought to the Katunayake International Airport in the early hours of yesterday.

Dimuthu Chathuranga Perera, a 38-year-old resident of Summitpura, Modara, Colombo 15, had fled to Oman from Sri Lanka on March 22, 2025, using a forged passport.Beaches & Islands

He is a suspect in the murder of Ganemulla Sanjeewa and was also a suspect highly wanted for investigations into numerous other crimes committed in the country.
