Sri Lanka, May 2 -- The Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government Ministry in a circular to heads of government institutions including Chief Provincial Secretaries has introduced a mechanism to grant permanent appointments to employees in the public sector institutions who are on a temporary, casual, substitute, contract or relief basis.

The circular issued under the hands of Ministry Secretary S.Aloka Bandara outlined the procedure that should be followed to grant permanent appointments to those who are in the public sector on a temporary, casual substitute contact or relief basis.
