Sri Lanka, July 15 -- Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa dismissed reports claiming that special VIP security had been provided to 11 high-profile individuals, confirming that no such protection has been assigned.

Speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing yesterday (14), he stated that a report submitted by the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Special Security to the Inspector General of Police confirmed that no VIP security has been provided to the 11 individuals named in the document, including former Speaker Ashoka Ranwala, Ranjith Madduma Bandara, H.M. Dharmasena, and Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera.
