Sri Lanka, May 4 -- The Meteorology Department yesterday issued a warning for severe lightening in several provinces in the country in the next few days.

Thunder showers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at some places in North-central, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Eastern provinces and in Badulla, Colombo, Kaluthara, Galle and Matara districts after 1.00 p.m.

Discover more Newspapers Beaches & Islands Political There may be temporary localised strong winds during thundershowers. The general public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimise being affected by lightning.

The Department of Meteorology advises that people should shelter indoors preferably and never under trees during thunder showers.
