Met Dept forecasts increasing rains across SL
Sri Lanka, May 12 -- The atmospheric disturbance in the lower atmosphere over the Bay of Bengal in the vicinity of Sri Lanka has intensified into a low-pressure area, authorities said.
The Meteorology Department yesterday issued a warning stating that due to this system, the current rainy conditions prevailing in the country are expected to continue and increase over the next few days.
Duty Meteorologist Sachith Wickramasuriya urged the public, including the fishing and Naval communities, to remain vigilant regarding future forecasts and bulletins issued by the Department.
