Srilanka, Aug. 28 -- Specialist doctors yesterday welcomed the Government's move to establish a new service category called "Specialist Physicians' and Specialist Dental Physicians' Service" within the healthcare system in the country

The Cabinet of Ministers on Monday gave approval for the establishment of this service category based on a resolution submitted by Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa. The Cabinet also approved the appointment of an Officials' Committee headed by the Health and Media Ministry Secretary to draft a service minute applicable to this new service category.
