Sri Lanka, July 22 -- Energy Minister Anura Karunathilaka said that efforts will be made to increase the share of renewable energy by changing generation plans and to improve the electricity transmission system to maximize the use of renewable energy.
Although the current electricity generation plan expects 70 percent of the electricity capacity to be obtained from renewable energy, the Energy Minister said in Parliament yesterday (21) that in the future, those plans will be changed and plans will be implemented to obtain a greater amount from renewable energy.
