Massive 3.1 kg kidney stone removed
Sri Lanka, Aug. 19 -- Doctors at the Trincomalee General Hospital set a world record by successfully removing a massive 3.1 kg kidney stone from a 52-year-old individual recently.
This extremely complex and remarkable surgery was successfully performed under the leadership of Consultant Urological Surgeon Dr. Pragalaadhan Balakrishnan at the Trincomalee General Hospital, with the participation of Consultant Anaesthetist Dr. Amila Jayakody, along with doctors M.M. Rishli, J.M. Ihsaan, and the supportive medical staff.
