Sri Lanka, June 24 -- The Emergency Treatment Unit of the Manampitiya Divisional Hospital received a donation of essential equipment from The Sri Lanka China Society on June 21.

The donation resolved a major shortfall that had severely impacted the Hospital's emergency care capacity.

The Beijing-based China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development which contributed to the donation took the initiative to provide these essential items to hospitals in Sri Lanka affected by Cyclone Ditwah.

The Foundation spent Rs four million to provide essential medical equipment to hospitals in Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Kurunegala, and Polonnaruwa.
