Sri Lanka, Oct. 13 -- The Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayake Thera of the Malwatte Chapter stated yesterday (12) that members of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) never carried out a bomb attack on the Sri Dalada Maligawa.

The Chief Prelate made these remarks during a meeting at the Malwatte Temple with a delegation from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), led by its General Secretary MP Ranjith Madduma Bandara. The Venerable Mahanayake Thera was responding to a comment made by MP Madduma Bandara alleging that the JVP had bombed the Temple of the Tooth.
