Sri Lanka, March 9 -- The Department of Meteorology says mainly dry weather will prevail across the island today (March 9), with only a few areas likely to experience showers.

In its latest forecast issued at 5.30 a.m., the department said showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Ratnapura, Kalutara, Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 p.m.

Meanwhile, misty conditions are expected in several parts of the country during the early hours of the morning. These include the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and North-Western provinces, as well as the districts of Anuradhapura, Mannar, Galle and Matara.
