Sri Lanka, Aug. 31 -- Police media spokesman ASP F.U.Wootler has stated that use of loud speakers and other music equipment causing public inconvenience will not be permitted after 10 pm. Addressing a media briefing, he further said authorities had received numerous public complaints about excessive noise, which was increasingly affecting residents' well-being.

He added that strict legal action will be implemented against individuals and organisers who cause public inconvenience through the misuse of loudspeakers,sound amplification equipment and other acoustic devices.
