Sri Lanka, July 1 -- The carcass of a Sri Lankan mountain leopard cub, which died after being hit by a vehicle travelling on the Hatton-Colombo main road, was discovered on Monday(29) night, according to Chief Inspector of the Hatton Headquarters Police, W. R. A. D. Sugathadasa.

Estate workers initially noticed the leopard cub's carcass by the side of the road in the Shannon Estate area on the Hatton - Colombo main road and alerted the Police. A team of officers from the Hatton Police subsequently visited the Shannon Estate, recovered the cub's carcass and handed it over to the officers of the Nallathanniya Wildlife Office.
