Sri Lanka, May 8 -- National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) Planning Director Shanika Malalgoda said that a legal discourse was currently underway to find a solution to the age limit issue, which had arisen due to the lack of a single definition for a child.

She said that at present, 16, 18, and 21 are cited across various legal frameworks when defining a child. She noted that under such circumstances, the importance of resolving age limit discrepancies when making certain decisions had now emerged.
