Sri Lanka, May 12 -- The Police yesterday said legal action will be taken against vehicles fitted with dangerous modifications and excessively noisy exhaust systems.

Issuing a statement, the Police said, "It has been observed that certain vehicles operating on roads across the country have been illegally modified and are being driven without the required fitness certificates.

"Some of these vehicles are equipped with hazardous components and unauthorised alterations that may increase the likelihood of accidents and pose a danger, inconvenience, or nuisance to passengers and other road users.
