Sri Lanka, April 7 -- The funeral of veteran journalist Bhakthi Dharmapriya Mendis who died last Friday after a motor traffic accident in Athruguriya took place yesterday at Dadalla public cemetery amidst a large crowd of family, relatives, colleagues from the media fraternity and friends and old boys of his alma mater Richmond College, Galle.

Mendis, who left an indelible imprint in journalism, is the son of veteran journalist Sugathapala Mendis.
