Sri Lanka, April 1 -- It is learnt that there are seepages in almost all tanks in the Anuradhapura district. There are around 3,000 major, medium and minor scale tanks situated in the district. Majority of these tanks have not been repaired renovated or rehabilitated for many years. Out of the 13 major tanks in the district the Nuwarawewa tank and Tisawewa tank have been renovated last in 1890 and 1899 respectively. It has been estimated that for an overall renovation of the ageing Nuwarawewa alone it requires around Rs 2,000 million.
