Sri Lanka, Aug. 13 -- Sri Lankan SMEs' mindset should be to go global and be ready to partner with an international partner, Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneur Development told the Scale Up 2.0 National SME Forum held in Colombo on August 11.

He said Lankan SMEs should forget there is a local market and scale out globally. He also cautioned that SMEs need to have a strong balance Sheet, strong management and be ready to pivot with technology. The minister said what he envisioned for Sri Lanka is to have 100 to 200 brands, organisations entering into partnerships with global players, find similar start-ups who are growing and tap into growth markets and growth organisations.France Business Council
