Sri Lanka, June 19 -- Lanka Sathosa has reduced the prices of nine essential food items across all outlets effective from yesterday. Directed by the Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Co-operative Development Ministry, this move applies to multiple varieties of rice, wheat flour, chickpeas and sugar to provide immediate cost-of-living relief to the public.

Under the revised pricing, the price of wheat flour has been reduced by Rs.10 per kilogramme from Rs.169 to Rs.159, marking the highest reduction among the items.
