Lanka records 11 straight quarters of growth since mid-2023
Sri Lanka, June 19 -- Sri Lanka's economy has expanded for 11 consecutive quarters since the second quarter of 2023, marking a sustained recovery from the unprecedented economic crisis of 2022, according to a senior Central Bank official.
Janaka Edirisinghe, Deputy Director of the Economic Research Department of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), said maintaining continuous growth over such a prolonged period despite multiple challenges was the outcome of pursuing a sustainable economic policy and steering the country in the right direction.
