Sri Lanka, May 20 -- The official signing of agreements for the import of 104 new buses for the Lanka Metro Transit bus service, which is being operated with the aim of making Sri Lanka's urban public transport service more efficient and streamlined, was held yesterday at the Transport, Highways and Urban Development Ministry in Battaramulla.
This batch of buses has been ordered on behalf of Lanka Metro Transit Company, a subsidiary of the Sri Lanka Transport Board, under the direction of the Transport Ministry.
The agreement was signed by Ministry Secretary, Professor Kapila C. K. Perera on behalf of the Ministry, while the board members of Indra Traders, the supplier, signed on behalf of the company.
