Sri Lanka, April 24 -- The Wattala Magistrate's Court has granted bail to former Minister Johnston Fernando, who was in remand custody over allegations of misusing a lorry owned by Lanka Sathosa. Coalcompany documents

The order was issued today(24) when the case was taken up before Magistrate Kanchana N. Silva.

The court directed that Fernando be released on a cash bail of Rs. 25,000 along with four personal sureties of Rs. 500,000 each.

The case stems from an investigation by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) into the alleged misuse of a Lanka Sathosa vehicle.
